Also listed as JHB1 and Yondr JHB1.
Vantage JHB1 (ex-Yondr) is a data center project in Sedenak (Kulai), Malaysia, operated by Vantage Data Centers (acquired from Yondr Group). It is operational and expanding. It is planned for 300 MW of IT load. The operator reports 25 MW running.
Latest change on record: entered the record as expanding on 6 June 2025. Record last checked against its sources on 21 October 2026.
This project is built or running, so every gate counts as passed.
Build odds is ArusGrid's reading of the public record, not a forecast, a rating or advice. It counts the gates this project has passed in public sources. Private progress does not show, a passed gate can be undone, and projects that pass every gate still stop. The method has not yet been tested against outcomes. How it works.
How Malaysia approves, powers and taxes data centers is on Data center rules in Malaysia.
Johor holds 43 active projects with 4,880 MW of planned IT load between them, and Vantage JHB1 (ex-Yondr) ranks 5th by planned capacity. Of those, 3 are operational, 9 are operational and expanding, 11 are under construction, 1 is past financial close, 5 are at the land and permitting stage and 14 are announced only. Published colocation vacancy in Johor was 0.7% as of June 2026, on 897 MW of operational colocation capacity as counted by Cushman & Wakefield. Vacancy excludes hyperscaler self-build.
Vantage Data Centers has 2 others in Malaysia tracked by ArusGrid, including Vantage KUL2 and Vantage KUL1. It sits on the Vantage Sedenak Campus. Named funding comes from GIC and ADIA on the equity side. No tenant has been disclosed, which is normal for colocation and says nothing about occupancy.
The build is phased. DC1 first completion at 25 MW is operational with a 2025 target; DC1 full (98MW) at 98 MW is under construction; Full campus (3 DCs) at 300 MW is announced. The stage was recorded as operational and expanding on 6 June 2025. The money on record is US$900m as of September 2024, debt raised, which ArusGrid keeps out of capital totals. Power comes from Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) through grid supply at 275 kV. Cooling uses direct liquid cooling.
Grid power for a large industrial user in Malaysia costs about US$0.14 per kWh as of July 2025, the country figure ArusGrid applies where a site has no published rate. The US export control position for advanced AI chips in Malaysia, as of 27 September 2026, is recorded as “No US destination-based licence requirement as enforced”. ArusGrid holds 9 public sources for this project, the latest dated 29 July 2026, and last checked the record on 21 October 2026.
Running capacity. The site is operational or expanding. The rules are fixed and published on the Methodology page.
AI/ML design with direct-to-chip liquid cooling (operator)
This country carries no US destination-based licence requirement for advanced AI chips as the rules are enforced today. Access is a commercial matter between the project and its vendors. Criteria are published on the Methodology page.
No US destination-based licence requirement as enforced · No US destination-based licence requirement as enforced (2026-09-27) source
No tenant disclosed. Most colocation leases are confidential, so this says nothing about occupancy. Not yet checked against second-order sources.
This is the size of a loan. ArusGrid excludes it from capital spending totals.
The figure covers the whole campus.
Platform capital spans several sites. It is never added to this project's own figure.
No published price band exists for Malaysia, and ArusGrid does not estimate from the regional benchmark alone. What was searched is listed on the Colo prices page.
